Fire stopping at SEON Vision Kingston Eye Clinic
A £15,000+ fire-stopping remedial programme completed within one week at SEON Vision’s new Kingston eye clinic. FireX treated and recorded 41 service penetrations at the compartment line separating the ground-floor commercial unit from the residential accommodation above.

The challenge.
After construction of the new eye clinic had begun, a fire risk assessment commissioned by the freeholder identified missing and damaged compartmentation between the ground-floor commercial unit and the residential accommodation above. SEON Vision was working to a strict construction programme and assisted the freeholder in progressing the required remedial works. FireX was contacted to assess the affected areas, define the necessary fire-stopping scope and complete the work without delaying the wider clinic fit-out.

How the work was managed.
FireX attended promptly, surveyed the affected areas and provided a defined quotation. The remedial works were completed over a one-week period and undertaken out of hours to minimise disruption to the construction programme. FSi products were installed within suitable tested fire-stopping systems to address the identified defects at the compartment line between the new ground-floor eye clinic and the residential units above.
