A seal is part of a complete tested arrangement. The wall or floor, opening dimensions, service type, supports and required performance influence the suitable detail. Later cable, pipe or ventilation alterations can affect an existing seal, so interfaces and reinstatement responsibilities need to be agreed with the relevant trades.

Records are agreed for the contract and may include asset or location references, photographs, product information, tested-detail references and completion status. Scheme certification is included only where the particular work and supporting evidence qualify within the applicable certified scope.
